A 12th-century palace hotel on the cliff above the sea in Ravello
Palazzo Avino is a 43-room hotel in a 12th-century palace in Ravello, 350 metres above sea level, with a Michelin-starred restaurant, a spa, a heated pool and a beach club by the sea.
Palazzo Avino occupies a 12th-century palace in Ravello, on Via San Giovanni del Toro in the town's aristocratic quarter, 350 metres above sea level. Green mountains rise on one side and the Gulf falls away on the other. The building was restored and reopened as a hotel in 1997 and took its present name in 2013. Its forty-three rooms, ten of them suites, are furnished with antiques or with a recent design drawn from the gardens of Ravello, and the suites include terraces with private hydro-pools.
Special parties and events can be arranged on one of the hotel's terraces or in its private restaurant, and a meeting room has natural light. Rossellinis holds a Michelin star, Terrazza Maraviglia serves small bites and fresh pasta above the property, and the Lobster and Martini Bar opens at six in the evening. The gardens hold a 20 metre heated pool, a spa and a gym, and a rooftop solarium has an infinity hydropool. Guests can also use the Clubhouse by the Sea, a private seaside villa in Marmorata, fifteen minutes away, from May to October.
