About

For sheer refinement, it's hard to beat this noble 18th-century palazzo, poised on the (literally) sheer rock face above the murmuring sea, and restored with exquisite flair.

Palazzo Suriano is a heritage hotel and a  wedding venue located in Vietri Sul mare, in an unflustered setting overlooking the Gulf of Salerno and the Amalfi coast. Vietri is the first pearl on the Amalfi Coast, a charming village known all over the world for its hand-painted ceramics, with countless workshops and boutiques.

Palazzo Suriano Heritage Hotel

This handsome 18th-century palazzo is set in luxuriant terraced gardens with expansive sea views. Recently restored with impeccable good taste, it offers exclusive accommodation with just twelve bedrooms and three elegant reception rooms, complete with their original frescoes, furnished with fine period pieces. In the library, the bride and their guests can play chess or cards, or browse through antiquarian books, vintage newspapers, or useful guide books to the local area.

There's vintage musical wallpaper, too, with old shellac records of Enrico Caruso, bel canto opera, Neapolitan songs, Golden Age jazz, piped through 1920s gramophone speakers.
Palazzo Suriano is the perfect choice for an unforgettable event or to celebrate a civil, protestant, Jewish or symbolic wedding ceremony as well as an intimate vow renewal or elopement.

Other Features:

Palazzo Suriano is where noble heritage meets poetic romance. A rare jewel on the Amalfi Coast, its style is rooted in 18th-century neoclassical elegance, softened by Mediterranean warmth and timeworn beauty. Think: tiled courtyards, terraced gardens, antique mirrors, and sea-swept balconies.

This is a venue for couples who favour timeless over trendy, who dream of slow, cinematic weddings where every frame feels curated but never contrived. It’s refined, romantic, and quietly opulent — the kind of place where heirloom moments unfold naturally, framed by lemon groves and coastal light.

Whether hosting an intimate elopement, a fashion-forward editorial, or a whole weekend of celebration, the style of Palazzo Suriano always remains the same: elegant, emotive, and effortlessly Italian.

Venue Capacity

Palazzo Suriano isn’t built for mass gatherings — it’s made for meaningful ones. Outdoor celebrations unfold across cascading gardens and panoramic terraces, where up to 90 guests can dine, dance, and toast beneath the stars, framed by lemon trees and Mediterranean blue. Indoors, the heritage salons — each rich with neoclassical detailing, antique mirrors, and marble accents — welcome up to 50 guests for seated receptions that feel like private soirées in a noble home.

Ceremonies are typically symbolic, set against the villa’s most photogenic spots: a vine-draped balustrade overlooking the sea, the grand staircase softened with florals, or a hidden garden nook kissed by morning light. It’s a dream canvas for refined elopements, editorial-style micro-weddings, and destination celebrations that favour intimacy, soul, and cinematic beauty over spectacle.

This is not a space for the ordinary. This is where love feels art-directed, and every guest feels like part of a beautiful film.

Dining

Dining at Palazzo Suriano is a sensorial embrace. Aperitivos are served among lemon trees. Antipasti are unveiled on majolica platters. And the main course — perhaps fresh scialatielli with clams or slow-cooked lamb — is paired with local wines that hum with sun and story. You may dine under the stars. Or in the salon, where chandeliers flicker like candlelight. Every meal here feels like a family gathering, steeped in joy and Italian generosity — but styled with elegance.

Venue Availability

Palazzo Suriano opens its gates for weddings from April through October, when the Amalfi Coast is in full bloom — citrus-scented, sun-drenched, and utterly cinematic. These are the golden months, when outdoor celebrations glow in natural light and the coastline hums with life. May, June, and September are particularly sought after, offering the sweet spot between warmth and tranquillity.

That said, there’s a quiet kind of magic in the off-season, too. For couples drawn to moodier skies, candlelit interiors, and soulful winter elopements, select winter dates — including December — are available on request. The villa transforms beautifully in cooler months, becoming even more intimate and theatrical.

Due to the villa’s boutique nature and limited dates, early booking is essential, especially for exclusive-use weddings or multi-day celebrations. Most couples reserve their ideal timing and guest experience 12 to 18 months in advance.

Rooms

There are just seven — each with its soul. Expect vaulted ceilings, hand-painted tiles from Vietri, antique mirrors, and balconies that open to morning light and Mediterranean breeze. The rooms aren’t themed. They’re lived in — as though borrowed from an old aristocratic friend who left the keys behind. Perfect for the wedding party, or a just-for-you bridal sanctuary.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Can we book the entire villa exclusively for our wedding?
Yes — in fact, that’s what most couples choose. With only seven rooms, Palazzo Suriano is the perfect size for a full buyout, offering you total privacy, uninterrupted access, and a truly authentic sense of home for your wedding stay.

2. Is the venue suitable for symbolic and civil ceremonies?
Symbolic ceremonies are the most popular and take place in breathtaking on-site locations. Civil ceremonies can be arranged nearby — either in a local town hall or historic church just minutes from the villa.

3. What’s the best time of year for a wedding at Suriano?
The most magical months are May, June, September, and early October — when the Amalfi light is golden, the flowers are in bloom, and the coast hums with charm (but without peak-season crowds).

4. Is the venue child-friendly?
Yes, children are welcome, though the atmosphere and design are more suited to elegant, adult-focused celebrations. Families often book the villa privately to create a relaxed and personal environment suitable for all ages.

5. Is there a backup plan in place for inclement weather?
Absolutely. The frescoed salons and arched indoor spaces are ready to host beautiful indoor ceremonies and receptions without compromising on style or atmosphere.

6. Can we bring our suppliers?
Yes — you're free to work with your planner, florist, photographer or band. That said, Palazzo Suriano also offers a trusted network of Italian creatives who understand the villa’s tone and flow perfectly.

7. What type of wedding photography best suits the venue?
Editorial and cinematic styles thrive here. Expect sun-drenched gardens, architectural details, tiled backdrops, and romantic lighting at every turn. Drone shots over the coastline add a magical touch.

8. Is there on-site parking for guests and suppliers?
Yes, secure private parking is available — a rare luxury on the Amalfi Coast.

9. Can we host multi-day celebrations (welcome dinner, brunch, etc.)?
Yes. Palazzo Suriano is a favourite for 2–3 day wedding escapes, often including welcome drinks on the terrace, the main event, and a relaxed farewell lunch the next day.
