Wedding venues on the Amalfi Coast
The Amalfi Coast is one of Italy's most spectacular landscapes, where colourful villages cling to dramatic cliffs above the Mediterranean and terraced gardens descend towards the sea. Along this celebrated stretch of coastline, historic villas, elegant hotels and magnificent garden terraces offer extraordinary settings for destination weddings.
High above the water, Ravello is known for the celebrated gardens of Villa Cimbrone and Villa Rufolo, while Positano's pastel coloured houses cascade towards the shoreline. The historic town of Amalfi brings its own architectural and maritime heritage. From intimate ceremonies overlooking the sea to elegant celebrations beneath the evening sky, the Amalfi Coast offers a remarkable combination of Italian romance, coastal beauty and timeless sophistication.

Short answers from what the venues have told us. The planning guide goes into more detail.
Which airport is nearest?
Naples (NAP) is the main airport for the Amalfi Coast. Salerno Costa d'Amalfi (QSR), at the eastern end of the coast, has scheduled flights on a smaller number of routes. Villa La Rondinaia says it is less than an hour from Naples airport.
When is the best time to marry on the Amalfi Coast?
The season runs from April to October. July and August are the busiest and hottest months, with the most traffic on the coast road; May, June and September are the months many couples choose. Some hotels close in the winter.
How much does a wedding on the Amalfi Coast cost?
Most venues quote on request. Of the venues listed here, Villa La Rondinaia in Ravello indicates exclusive hire of the villa from €15,000 a night with a minimum stay, and Palazzo Suriano in Vietri sul Mare indicates venue hire from €5,000 to €12,000 depending on exclusivity. Food, drink and rooms are priced separately.
Can we have a legal ceremony at a villa?
Only where the local comune has approved the venue for civil ceremonies. Otherwise couples marry at the town hall and hold a symbolic ceremony at the villa or hotel.
Can our guests stay at the venue?
It depends on the venue. Hotel Raito has 77 rooms and Palazzo Suriano nine; Villa La Rondinaia sleeps twelve in its suites. For larger weddings, guests usually stay in hotels in Ravello, Amalfi or Vietri sul Mare with transport arranged.
What happens if it rains?
Ask each venue for its plan B. At Hotel Raito the Luna Vietrese hall sits next to the Agrumeto terrace and seats up to 250; Palazzo Suriano's frescoed salons seat up to 50, fewer than its 90 outdoors; Villa La Rondinaia lists marquees among its amenities.
How do guests get around?
By car or minibus on the coast road, which is narrow and busy in summer, or by boat between the towns from spring to autumn. For the wedding day, transfers arranged by the venue or a planner keep everyone together.
